Product Description In the small town of Dogwood, West Virginia, Karin has buried her shattered dreams by settling for a faithful husband whose emotional distance from her deep passions and conflicts leaves her isolated. Loaded with guilt, she tries to raise three small children and "do life" the best she can. Will returns to Dogwood intent on pursuing the only woman he has ever loved--only to find there is far more standing in his way than lost years in prison. The secrets of Will and Karin's past begin to emerge through Danny Boyd, a young boy who wishes he hadn't survived the tragedy that knit those two together as well as tore them apart. The trigger that will lay their pain bare and force them to face it rather than flee is the unlikely figure of Ruthie Bowles, a withered, wiry old woman who leads Karin so deep into her anger against God that it forces unexpected consequences.

You'll be glad you read this book December 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is so fantastic. I was torn between reading slowly to savor the story, and reading quickly to see what was going to happen next.
Reading quickly won out. I chose to read Dogwood rather than watch WVU play UNC in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. Now I must tell you that it is the ultimate compliment that I willingly ignored any WVU game, much less a WVU bowl game!
I loved the fact that the author gave me just enough clues to keep me very interested and wondering what the mystery was without giving it away till the END. I can't remember the last time I was ever more surprised with an ending!
Now that I've read Dogwood quickly I plan to go back and savor the story more and come to know Will and Karin even better. I doubt the second reading will be my last.
Congratulations Chris on your first adult novel. May there be many more.
Dogwood, thrilling read December 16, 2008 I really enjoyed Dogwood. It had the page turning effects of a John Grisham novel. I literally couldn't put it down. The character development was excellent.
The best book I've read this year!!!! November 20, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I read many, many books a month, but this HAS to be the best I've read this year. It will have you sitting on the edge of your seat throughout, and I defy anyone to guess the twists that come at the end.
Altho' this is listed as Christian Fiction, don't let the non-religious amongst you be put off. This is more a book about human characteristics/emotions i.e forgiveness, retribution, sacrifice, greed, love etc etc. Read this book. It will stay with you for a long time after readng the final page.
Great Christian book! November 17, 2008 I loved this book and could not put it down until the surprise ending arrived! I fell totally in love with all the characters and especially loved the author's sense of humor throughout the book. Awesome!
Utterly Blown Away! November 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am an avid reader, and Dogwood is one of the best books I have ever read. I could not put it down! The story is simply beautiful, especially for someone who had a first love that they never quite got over. It is a story of extraordinary love as well as a story of hope and faith. Mr. Fabry did a wonderful job of intertwining the lives of the characters so that I was compelled to keep reading to learn about the relationships between the characters. The plot took such a surprising twist at the end that it took my breath away for a moment. I loved the book and I highly recommend it.
