Product Description
If you've never read The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, you've been missing out on one of the best-selling leadership books of all time. If you have read the original version, then you'll love this new expanded and updated one. Internationally recognized leadership expert, speaker, and author John C. Maxwell has taken this million-seller and made it even better: - Every Law of Leadership has been sharpened and updated
- Seventeen new leadership stories are included
- Two new Laws of Leadership are introduced
- New evaluation tool will reveal your leadership strengths-and weaknesses
- New application exercises in every chapter will help you grow
Why would Dr. Maxwell make changes to his best-selling book? "A book is a conversation between the author and reader," says Maxwell. "It's been ten years since I wrote The 21 Laws of Leadership. I've grown a lot since then. I've taught these laws in dozens of countries around the world. This new edition gives me the opportunity to share what I've learned."

Some are born to lead. Most are born to learn. December 7, 2008 John Maxwell's original 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership is a timeless classic and one that an entire generation of managers, entrepreneurs, ministers, coaches, and anyone else desiring to know more about leadership enhancement have come to respect and rely on. It is, in essence, the bible on the subject of leadership. To assert that the 'bible' could be improved upon may illicit cries of "blasphemy!" from many followers, however, that is exactly my assertion about the Revised and Updated 10th Anniversary Edition of The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. A new generation of people, perhaps not aware of the original book, will now have the opportunity to acquire or improve their leadership skills and abilities with a more relevant guide to begin their path. All of the original laws we disciples of Maxwell have come to know, trust, and follow are still included but many of them contain new leadership anecdotes that help the reader to visualize how these laws apply to real life situations. Whether you are a Scout leader, little league coach, PTA mom, pastor, or corporate executive this book will help to shape the opinions, habits, and actions one must possess in applying leadership to your life. The format still uses simple prose and anecdotes, just as the original version does, but therein lays Maxwell's genius. His ideas are concise, direct, and easy to understand without being overly simplistic. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone interested in self-improvement regardless of their station in life. What I find most impressive is Maxwell himself. Clearly, as the decade has passed since the original, he is not content to sit on his laurels though he has garnered enough to build quite a stately throne. He has obviously applied the Law of Process to his own life and proved that, "Leadership doesn't develop in a day. It takes a lifetime."
Great leadership book September 29, 2008 I came across the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership in a leadership training program at my company. It's a great book because it's very practical and the advice points you in the direction you need to head if you want to succeed as a leader.
Another book we read in the class that I highly recommend for leaders is The Emotional Intelligence Quick Book
Fantastic book September 13, 2008 This is very good book it helps retrain the brain on tasks that were forgotten over the years.
A tad boring... August 29, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The subject matter of the book is really great, but in my humble opinion, the delivery of it is pretty boring. I purchased the book to pre-read before sending off to my 23-year old daughter (recent college grad) and I know it won't capture her attention...it didn't capture mine.
Beyond the 21 Laws August 4, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I found "The 21 Laws" to be all that it's hacked up to be, and I think I've read most of the Leadership tomes. Now I have luckily found the new book called "Going Beyond Leadership of Character" by West Point author Norman Thomas Remick which took me to the next step in leadership, trying to become not just a good leader, but a great leader. You might say, like the book, "Good to Great", shows you what makes some companies go from being good to being great, the book, "Going Beyond...", shows you how leaders can go from being good to being great. After reading the Maxwell book, and then going further by reading the Remick book and putting it into action, I think I'm on my way. That's why I recommend "The 21 Laws" and "Going Beyond Leadership of Character" to everyone.
